Quest 09 Journey

“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The great teacher inspires. – William A. Ward  Tim, who I would freely call ‘dad’ has used his knowledge, wisdom, and wit to tell me stories of heroic dreamers, to explain the tools they needed and used, to demonstrate how he has used those tools,  and finally how he has taught others. He has inspired me to be a dream seller and maker to others.”  Trang Tran – Sales Manager at SacomTech in Vietnam

1. DISCOVER YOUR DREAM

This course is designed for people who want to remain engaged in normal lives while going on a journey to discover their dream.  In the past, married or engaged couples have found this course to be helpful in their process of coming into a shared vision by understanding and appreciating their partner.

The classroom part of the journey takes place one evening a week for 9 months starting in September. Each student or couple is highly encouraged to find a mentor who they meet with regularly to process with. The mentor also helps each student to develop an experiential component where they practice what they are learning in their daily living. At the end of the 9 month journey, the students each give a creative presentation in which they share their story of discovery with their friends and fellow sojourners.  This course is also available in a more condensed version for weekend retreats or seminars. You can contact Tim by e-mail if you are interested in going on this 9 month sojourn or having Tim facilitate a weekend retreat.

2. HOW TO  PLANT OR BECOME A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY

This is a course for churches or church planters who want to explore the theology, sociology, history, and practices of living ‘incarnational mission’ and ‘deeper community’. The course will start every fall as there are students. This course has also been condensed into a weekend seminar for churches that want to learn how to walk out being ‘incarnational community’. If you are interested in taking this course or having this seminar taught in your church, please e-mail Tim.

 3. EXPLORING ANCIENT FUTURE PATHWAYS: A JOURNEY THROUGH CHURCH HISTORY AND THEOLOGY WITH A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS.

The purpose of this course is to make history and theology accessible to people who have not been to a Bible College or seminary, and nurture a culture of learning theology and church history in community, that carries on well after the course is done. This course gives the big picture overview of our Christian story and how this messy story relates to the issues we face today. My hope is through a year long journey of meeting once a month to discuss and explore where we’ve come from (our history) and what we believe (our theology), we will gain the collective wisdom to run our leg of the race, hopefully avoiding some of the pitfalls of the past.

Fellow Celtic Pilgrims
